NCRTV Museum Celebrates the 60th Anniversary of a Beatles Milestone
The National Capital Radio & Television Museum is excited to announce a special exhibit commemorating the 60th anniversary of The Beatles’ historic interview on their arrival in the United States. The band, friends of WWDC disc jockey Carroll James, granted him an interview on the morning of February 11, 1964, prior to their inaugural U.S. concert at the D.C. Coliseum.
This captivating exhibit, opens to the public 60 years to the day of the interview, Sunday, February 11, 2024. It showcases the original microphone used for The Beatles’ interview. In addition to the mic, a meticulously restored 1955 television set plays a video capturing the essence of that historic radio moment.
The National Capital Radio & Television Museum invites the public to delve into this immersive journey on Fridays from 9 to 4, and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, students, and Bowie residents, while children under 5 and museum members enjoy free entry. Guided tours by knowledgeable docents provide a deeper understanding of this musical milestone. Free parking is available for all attendees.
