NCRTV Presents: History of the American Forces Network
NCRTV is excited to share that our newest exhibit, History of the American Forces Network, has officially opened as of August 23, 2025! This exhibit will be up until August 2026, offering our community members a chance to learn more about the history and impact the American Forces Network has had on our service members, both at home and abroad! Come learn how an illegal radio station in Alaska, delivering music and entertainment to a single base blossomed into a worldwide broadcasting organization! Join us during normal operating hours Friday, 10am-4pm, Saturday & Sunday 12pm-4pm to get your look at this new exhibit!
About AFN:
The American Forces Network (AFN) is a radio and television broadcast service provided by the United States Military to service members stationed overseas and other authorized personnel. It aims to entertain and inform these individuals while also providing access to internal information networks. AFN broadcasts a variety of programming, including radio shows, popular American television programs, and news updates. AFN is a branch of the American Forces Radio and Television Service, which is supervised by the Defense Media Activity.
