Andy Butler
Andy was born in Texas and grew up in Missouri. He worked fulltime at local commercial radio stations while he completed a BS and MS. He joined Doubleday Broadcasting in St. Louis returning KWK to the air after being dark for more than a decade. He began “trouble shooting” at other Doubleday Stations and was appointed Vice President – Engineering. He built studio and transmitter facilities in a number of cities including Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Washington and New York. He moved to Emmis Broadcasting where he built the nations first all sports radio station. He ran the Mets network then moved to Baltimore where he was chief engineer for WBAL and ran the Orioles network. He joined NAB where he managed technical conferences. Next he moved to Broadcast Electronics as Marketing Manager. He returned to DC under a year contract to develop station level automation for PBS. He retired from PBS last year after 29 years.
